Fleet Ambulance Live tracking Life-safety

Live location for every vehicle, ambulance and critical asset.

Ops teams had no reliable, live view of where their fleet, ambulances or critical assets were — leading to ETA guesswork, misuse and unexplained delays. We built the GPS ingestion, live map and alerting layer — and plugged it straight into dispatch and CRM.

The Problem

You can't manage what you can't see — especially in life-safety.

The gap between "we have GPS trackers" and "we actually run ops on them" is enormous. The problems ranged from operational to life-critical:

  • Dispatchers were coordinating vehicles over phone calls — with ETAs based on gut, not data.
  • Ambulance response times weren't measurable, which is unacceptable in emergency care.
  • Vehicles were sometimes used off-route or off-hours, and no one had proof.
  • Existing GPS device dashboards were siloed — not tied into CRM, dispatch or billing.
  • Alerts on idle, deviation, speeding or geo-fence entry were either missing or so noisy they were ignored.
The Solution

A tracking layer that plugs into the systems that already run the business.

Not another siloed dashboard — a GPS ingestion + live-map + alerting layer that integrates directly into dispatch, CRM and analytics.

📥

GPS ingestion

Vendor-agnostic ingestion — support multiple tracker protocols (TCP, HTTP, TK-family, custom) into a common event stream.

🗺️

Live map

All assets on one map, colour-coded by state (idle · moving · in-service · offline · fault). Filter by fleet, region, driver.

🚧

Geo-fencing

Custom zones — depot, service area, restricted zones. Alerts on entry, exit or dwell.

🕒

Route history & playback

Timeline of every trip with stops, idles, deviations — replayable for audits or disputes.

⏱️

ETA computation

Live ETA based on current location + traffic + historical patterns — shared with customers and dispatch.

🧑‍✈️

Driver behaviour

Speed, harsh braking, over-speeding, idle-with-engine-on — rolled up into a driver score.

🚨

Smart alerting

Severity-based routing to Slack / WhatsApp / SMS. Noise-suppressed so alerts still get read.

🔌

Dispatch & CRM integration

Every asset event pushed into the CRM and dispatch — no siloed dashboards for the ops team to check.

Adoption

Dispatchers, drivers and paramedics onboarded together

  • Dispatchers replaced phone-based check-ins with the live map — the biggest single behavioural change.
  • Drivers and paramedics adopted the mobile client for status updates and SOS.
  • Alerts were routed to supervisors on Slack / WhatsApp with severity-based cool-downs to prevent alert fatigue.
  • Customer-facing ETA links were rolled out to select fleets, replacing "he's on his way" phone calls.
